Surface Pro 8 battery life: Up to 16 hours of battery life based on typical Surface device usage. I'm usually around an outlet so it's not a huge deal, but it's good to know what settings to use if I won't be able to charge for an extended period. Tried switching to Edge, turning off the keyboard light, and disabling Bluetooth in addition to running at 60hz in Battery Saver mode with about 50% brightness and it bumped me up to about 7 hours, which is nice. Is this just what it's like to use a Surface Pro? I'm considering returning it.Įdit: Thanks for all the help and info, everyone. I ran a battery test and it says I'm still at the full 50,000mah of capacity. The specs promise about 16 hours of battery life, but I just don't see how the numbers can be that far off. I bought it for work, but I can't get through even half of my workday before running out of juice.

Using it normally at 120hz drops me down to 3-4 hours of battery life. I'm just using it to browse the internet and edit documents. Even with the refresh rate set to 60hz, battery saver on, and brightness set to about 50%, 5 hours is the most I can get out of it.
